Hands Off! London #BriFri
Welcome to British Isles Friday! British Isles Friday is a weekly event for sharing all things British and Irish — reviews, photos, opinions, trip reports, guides, links, resources, personal stories, interviews, and research posts. Join us each Friday to link your British and Irish themed content and to see what others have to share. The link list is at the bottom of this post. Pour a cup of tea or lift a pint and join our link party!
Last week, I reviewed Lucy Worsley Investigates. Tina enjoyed working a jigsaw puzzle that featured the characters of Jane Austen.
Did you know that London had a big Hands Off! rally last weekend in Trafalgar Square? My favorite sign was the Anti-King poster, especially given that it was seen in England.
The Hands Off! rally was organized by Indivisible London UK. They list three goals for their organization:
- Build community and prepare to provide mutual aid
- Provide education and direction on opportunities to resist the US administration, and prevent similar groups from taking root in the UK and Europe
- Build grassroots relationships between the US and the UK
I love those goals. I’m glad to feel the support of London and the UK behind our efforts in the US.
It’s somewhat ironic that they had a lovely sunny day in London, with its reputation for rainy days. Meanwhile, here in St. Louis, we had soggy wet weather.
