Christmastide #SundaySalon
Happy Sunday! Sunday Salon is hosted by Deb at ReaderBuzz. Check out her post and the links to see what other bloggers have been up to in the last week.
How’s the weather?
We had a warm, damp week. Not a postcard Christmas, but pleasant for the longer drives.
There was fog on the Missouri River on Friday.
What are you reading?
On Christmas Eve, I finished Make My Wish Come True by Alyson Derrick and Rachael Lippincott. Check out my review for details, but the short version is that it was a merry way to reach Christmas Day.
Then, I started one of the wintery books on my Winter TBR: The White Lady by Jacqueline Winspear. I expected it to remind me most of the Maisie Dobbs books. Instead, the feel is more like some of Kate Quinn’s books, especially The Alice Network. That’s not a disappointment.
What are you watching?
Since our family gathering was yesterday, I spent Christmas Day watching YouTube videos and streaming shows that gave me the feel of a Very British Christmas. I wrote about the experience for my British Isles Friday post. It was a cozy, quiet, but festive day.
What are you doing?
I’m planning for 2025. I have some ideas for reading and blog posts. I want to get back to my novel-writing after a longer break than I meant to take. I want to build on some recent consistency at yoga and add some more strength-training and cardio now that my lingering cough is almost gone. 2025 is going to be a year to think globally and act locally — in particular, I’m watching out for opportunities to support nonprofit organizations run by black women in my area.
What are you up to this fine Sunday?
