  1. If The White Lady is simiar to The Alice Network then I will give that one a go. I very much enjoyed Alice Network.

My reading plans are the nonfiction challenge hosted by Shelleyrae, the classics club and reading what I have in the house.

Thank you for hosting the British Isles Friday as that always gives me ideas and I enjoy reading it and participating. Happy new year to you!

  2. I tried one of the Maisie Dobbs books and really didn’t like it, to my surprise. I keep meaning to give it another shot someday. It seems up my street, and yet…

Anyway, sounds like you had a good Christmas — here’s hoping we all have a good new year, too!

  3. I listened to The White Lady and enjoyed it very much, but you’re right it does have a different feel than Maisie. I love planning and I’m doing much of the same this week!

  4. Glad you had a good Christmas! I’m starting to plan my 2025 reading and blogging, too. The White Lady sounds even more appealing after hearing that it’s giving you Kate Quinn vibes. I just got The Briar Club on a kindle deal a couple of weeks ago and have added it to my 2025 priority tbr.

  5. What a beautiful picture of the Missouri River.

What a relaxing way to spend Christmas.

I need to get back to consistent exercise. I’m just not that great at working out in the winter.

    • I’m in the St. Louis area, the Missouri River to the north and the Mississippi River to the east. I live closer to the Mississippi, but I visit a friend frequently. She lives near enough to the Missouri that we usually eat lunch there, at a picnic table if it’s warm or in my car if it’s cold.
