Black Girls Do STEM #SundaySalon
Happy Sunday! Sunday Salon is hosted by Deb at ReaderBuzz. Check out her post and the links to see what other bloggers have been up to in the last week.
How’s the weather?
I’m checking every day that I go out whether I need a jacket. Most days, the answer is still ‘no.’ But some days it’s yes! We’ve turned the furnace on in the morning for an hour or two, a couple of times.
There is lots of color in our foliage. In our yard the leaves turn yellow, which can seem a little undramatic. But at certain angles of the sun, our entire house is wrapped in golden light.
What are you reading?
I’m finished listening to A Most Agreeable Murder by Julia Seales just in time for a pre-Halloween review on Friday.
What are you watching?
We somehow missed Wolf Hall when it originally aired on PBS. We’re using the PBS Passport to stream it now, so we can learn all about Thomas Cromwell and other people who hung around King Henry VIII’s court.
What are you doing?
I went to an event sponsored by Black Girls Do STEM and got to meet the founder of the organization. I love that the mission is in the name.
How are you this fine Sunday?
I must be the only reader on earth who did not like Wolf Halll. No explanation.
Have a good week… mae at maefood.blogspot.com
I haven’t heard of Wolf Hall but I will check it out! Have a great weekend!
I’ve got A Most Agreeable Murder on hold at the library, sounds like a winner. Am currently reading a mystery in that Regency period. Wolf Hall, not interested. Cromwell, yuck!
I’m starting to realize I need to put on a sweater more and more days, which doesn’t bother me since I wear a cardi year-round. I finally look appropriate for the weather.
That’s such a good picture of both of you! Yes, it’s very clear what their mission is. It’s a great one too!
Cromwell was such a character hated by most. Interesting book too.
A Most Agreeable Murder sounds charming. LOL So over the weather already – I’m not a cold weather girly. Our halloween inflatable got so covered in frost that it still looked half inflated this morning. Hahahaha…
Wow! The Founder of Black Girls do STEM is gorgeous! Can I please have her hairrrrrrrrrr????
Love the photo of you and The Black Girls Do STEM organizer!
I will look for Wolf Hall on PBS Passport. It will be a nice change to watch historical fiction rather than the mysteries we have been watching.
No jackets needed here! Our air conditioner continues to run for a while each day.
Love the Black Girls Do STEM!
A Most Agreeable Murder looks good. I hope you enjoy it. Have a great week!
I read Wolf Hall years ago, but never watched the PBS series… thanks for reminding me. Our highs are in the 50s today, so I’m wearing fleece on my walk. Love this weather!
It has been in the 30s here most mornings this week. The high today was only 58, I think fall is here to stay! Our trees are losing their gorgeous leaves which is sad!
Nice pic. And thanks for the link on the STEM website. Seems a great org. I read the 2nd Wolf Hall novel … but not sure I knew there was a series of it. Interesting.
It’s been so chilly here – it’s been jacket weather for sure a few evenings. I love it!
I like the photo of you with the founder of STEM. When we were in TN last week it was nice temps and I needed a jacket. That’s my kind of weather!
I had not heard of Wolf Hall. I do remember when we visited Ireland there were numerous info plaques whihc told the history of a castle/abbey/etc and then it would state “which was destroyed by Oliver Cromwell”. Not a well liked fellow there!
