Books on My Fall 2024 To-Read List #TopTenTuesday
I want to take a good look at my TBR. I’ve been struggling lately, mostly because I keep picking up books that I “should” read instead of ones that delight me. Time to switch that up!
First up, a book that’s due back at the library soon and that I really want to review on my blog.
- London: A Guide for Curious Wanderers by Jack Chesher. This is charming enough to be a gift book, so I’ll wait until Black Friday to post my thoughts.
Next, two books that I’m looking forward to reading with my book group.
- Solito (a memoir about crossing the US’s southern border) in Hispanic Heritage Month
- There, There (a novel set at the Big Oakland Powwow) during Native American Heritage Month
I hope to read a murder mystery in October. I have several on my TBR, but this is the one that I’m going to try first.
- This Side of Murder by Anna Lee Huber
Lately, I’ve been listening to an audiobook, most of the time, but my list of ideas has grown quite short. Any suggestions? For now, I’m going with these two.
- Thank You for Listening by Julia Whelan, an audiobook about an audiobook narrator — ha!
- My Oxford Year by Julia Whelan, assuming the above book goes well, this story sounds right up my alley
Then, it’s probably time to start reading for posts that I want to write in December. Here’s my list of holiday-themed books:
- Last Christmas in Paris by Hazel Gaynor and Heather Webb
- Midnight at the Christmas Bookshop by Jenny Colgan
- Murder Most Festive by Ada Moncrieff
- A Lot Like Christmas by Connie Willis
