Last week, I the latest offerings from Mary Balogh, the Ravenswood series of Regency novels. So, my review below means that I covered the Regency two weeks in a row.
Bridgerton, the series based on Julia Quinn’s Regency novels, gets more over-the-top with each season.
I know very little about the history of fashion, but even I can see that the costumes are more devoted to modern story-telling than historical accuracy. This video provided some background and context that didn’t ruin the fun for me:
More than clothing, I notice architecture. I love how fantastical the interiors are in Bridgerton.
You all know that I get a kick out of film locations. My Facebook friend, Lois Alter Mark, took a walking tour in Bath that covered the places where Bridgerton was filmed. Her article was published at USA Today. I wish I read that before I watched the latest season so I could keep an eye on those places.
I’m glad that I waited to watch Jessica Kellgren-Fozard’s take on Bridgerton, which is full of spoilers. This video was perfect when I was in the mood to chat about what I just saw, but my husband had less than zero interest in the conversation.
The fantasy will continue for another season! Netflix announced Season 4 with a trailer that gives little away, except that this will be Benedict’s story. I’m very much hoping that we get a Season 5 so that Eloise can have her happy ending which would need to reflect that happiness for Eloise is going to be something very different from her siblings.
