Welcome to Readers’ Workouts, the weekly event where book lovers share workout stories, goals, successes, and challenges.
My recovery from stomach flu has been slow. I didn’t feel like eating, but ended up curtailing calories so long that it impacted my energy level. I have managed to exercise every day but, one day, it was 10 minutes of strength-training and, a couple of other days, it was 15 minutes of stretching. As soon as I felt better, of course, I started doing more things out of the house, but that takes all my energy and I’m even less likely to get in a good workout. I’m going to take a couple of indoor days, now, and see if I can get things back on a more even keel.
How is your exercise going? Do you have methods for getting back in the swing of it after illness?
Getting back after falling ill is tough. I think you are on the right track, stretching, some strength and then build up to more! Feel better soon Joy.
I’m glad you’re staring to feel better. Take it slow.
Glad you’re feeling better. Take it slow so you don’t end up back at the beginning.
I swear it’s such a struggle to get back to exercise after being ill. Glad to hear you are doing much better and just take it easy!
I thought you must have been ill. You have been quiet.
I hope you are feeling better.
I want to be more active but it’s difficult for me until our weather warms up. That sounds like an excuse but it is actually a reason. I am going to yoga indoors when I can.
