Welcome to Readers’ Workouts, the weekly event where book lovers share workout stories, goals, successes, and challenges.
I have a fairly sizable collection of exercise videos — more than 20. I haven’t used a single one in over three years because the laptop I was using didn’t have a DVD player and the place where we do have a DVD player isn’t one where I was comfortable exercising. But, I have a new computer (a desktop for a change) and it has a DVD player! I set a goal at some point last week to do 4 DVD workouts in October, but so far, I’ve done 0. I’m hoping that if I state the goal here, I’ll get it done!
Otherwise, my exercise is going well — I’ve exercised 440 minutes in October, well on my way to my goal of 1300 minutes.

I haven’t tried an exercise video in ages. I had a yoga one but that didn’t work our. I used to love the dancing sort and fortunately we have a big living room so I would hop around there. Your minutes of exercise are going well!
I too have a huge collection of exercise dvd’s.
I only have one – but I love it. I haven’t pulled it out in a while though.
I went to a yard sale last week and there were at least 100 exercise DVDs, And VCR tapes! The best laid plans….
Joy, Nice job. That sounds like a lot of minutes. I enjoy DVD exercises. I’ve done P90X and then was doing the latest version of that with my daughter. But I always prefer exercising outside. Something about that morning air.
I’ve not had great success with videos. But since my karate studio moved out to Chesterfield in June, my weekly workout went from 3.5 hours to 5, including an extra hour of sparring. No big effect on weight but I’m a better fighter now.
