New Year Energy #ReadersWorkouts

Welcome to Readers’ Workouts, the weekly event where book lovers share workout stories, goals, successes, and challenges.
With some computation last night, I realized I was only 20 minutes behind my goal. So, I danced and stretched for 20 minutes just so that I can claim to be exactly on track for this post. It’s too soon in the New Year to fall behind. I’m on track to exercise 1200 minutes this month and I’ve already completed four of the eight strength-training sessions I intend to do in January.
We haven’t done our full walk in more than a week, but we only skipped it completely on the two coldest days. The rest of the time, we at least made the attempt. We’ve taken to doing our walk backwards from our normal way — we get more shelter for the first part of the walk that way. Plus, the hills come earlier in the walk so we get a better workout even if we cut it short.
Do you make adjustments in your workouts to accommodate the weather?

Ohh the weather, what a subject here too.
Besides, I start the exams on January 26 and I have to be “butt in seat” most of the time, studying.
It’s very cold lately (-2ºC most of the mornings, or less) and I don’t know what to do when I go running; I’m always cold!
But it’s great to are on track! well done!
Good luck with your exams! I hope you find some time for movement — it’s good for stress relief!
The cold has been really challenging for me as a runner! I have had to do a couple of treadmill runs because of it, but thankfully the week is getting back up to the 40’s!
I hate this cold weather. Not only do I not want to go outside, all I really want to do is curl up under a blanket when I’m inside, not lift weights or stretch or whatever I should be doing.
I don’t have a post this week but I am starting a Walking program tonight at the gym. I’m going to be following this plan (http://tinyurl.com/prg7fvd). I have a friend’s wedding in July and I want to have a good fitting and look better in the dress.
Looks like a good program. A wedding can be very motivating!
My morning yoga habit is coming on nicely, 12 days in a row started with a gentle stretching routine.
Yesterday reinforced my dislike for meetings, after a full day with only 2 half hour slots free, I was so tired as to be useless. Probably a mental tired not a physical one but still exhausting.
I’m definitely planning to do audio book listening more this year, I’ll take the upcoming baby on walks hopefully ….please don’t be lazy Tabitha!
