Monday Reading & Mini-Bloggiesta #IMWAYR #Bloggiesta
I’m signing up for the Mini-Bloggiesta even though it looks like I won’t get much time except on Sunday. I’ll start working on a To Do list today so I can at least put that up on Saturday. I’ve got lots of New Year energy flowing on the blog, I want a little of it to flow into the blog.
A few hours remain to enter the giveaway of The War of Art and three other books by Steven Pressfield about overcoming Resistance to reach your goals. You can join us for a Read Along of The War of Art — it’s a short book and we’re taking the whole month, so there’s plenty of time.
The War of Art is one of the books I’m reading this month for my New Year’s Resolution Reading Challenge. I finished A Blueprint for Your Castle in the Clouds by Barbara Sophia Tammes but I still need to write a review. I’ve started the other two books for the challenge: A Short Guide to a Long Life by David B. Agus and Do More Great Work by Michael Bungay Stanier. But, I need to get back to them if I’m going to finish them by the end of the month for the challenge.
I got sidetracked by the book I’m reading for this week’s Book Club meeting: The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros. Such a beautiful book and a nice quick read — I’m surprised I haven’t read it before now!
I got further sidetracked by a desperate desire to read something just for fun! I ended up with Kitty Rocks the House by Carrie Vaughn — the 11th book in an urban fantasy series that spices up the adventure with a lot of humor.
How is your reading in the New Year?
I’ve gotten behind on the Kitty books. I really should catch up now that the series is ending. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
I only read the first book in the Kitty series, I thought it was ok but even though I have the next 2 sitting on my bookshelf I just never seem to feel like picking them up. Must check out The House on Mango Street. Happy reading and hope you have a productive Bloggiesta!
I listened to the first Kitty book and didn’t care for the narrator’s style. It’s turned me off wanting to read any others. I should re-visit them in print though. Enjoy your week!
I’ve got a busy weekend with events every day, but I’m going to try to squeeze in a little Mini Bloggiesta-ing, too! Good luck!
Good luck with Bloggiesta!
Hooray for New Years energy! I’m on deadline this week (and next, and the week after that … I really have to do something about this) but I’m hoping to get a little tinkering done on the blog.
Bloggiesta is a great way to start the new year. Hope you get many of the items crossed off your to do list.
