Tea in the Pump Room #WeekendCooking
As I promised yesterday in my post about the Roman Baths in Bath, today I’m sharing photos from the Pump Room where we ordered a full tea for a late lunch. The tour of the Roman Baths finishes in the Pump Room. The Pump Room, now a restaurant, was featured in Persuasion and Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen (not to mention countless Regency novels). Travel websites and books recommend the traditional English tea at the Pump Room — a historic setting, a good spread, and cheaper than taking tea in London.

The Georgian architecture provides the perfect ambiance for tea.
I loved the windows and the natural light.

Was it good? My mother and I want to go there but she points out that in the Regency novels they always say that the tea isn’t good. I think that because we’re American we won’t know any better!

Oh I wouldn’t have missed tea in the Pump Room for anything — we book lovers have our priorities. That tray looks wonderful! And the interior of the building looks beautiful. Wow.

When I was in Bath, we had tea at the Jane Austen museum, and I still begin to salivate at the thought of the luscious orange cake served there.
What a lot of fun! We didn’t make it out of London when I visited years ago but on my next visit I’d love to head to Bath and Brighton and some of the other more seaside type resorts. I’m not big on tea but I could go for some clotted cream!

What a lovely spot 
I was there a few years ago. We didn’t have time to stop for tea, but we did go in and have some of the bath water. It was disgusting! Pretty spot though. I looove Austen.
I’ve been to Bath and the short time I spent there I loved! I didn’t get to do this but I want to go back and have tea.
I’ve never been to Bath, what a wonderful thing to do, to visit the pump room and have high tea- it’s gone straight to the wish list.
