New Month — What are your fitness goals? #ReadersWorkouts
Welcome to Readers’ Workouts, the weekly event where book lovers share workout stories, goals, successes, and challenges.
I met my goal of 1400 minutes in June on the last day with a steamy walk. How did you do with your June exercise goals?
If all goes well in July, I will meet and surpass the one-year mark of daily exercise — 365 days in a row of exercise. I’m looking forward to that! Besides that, I’m aiming for 1400 minutes again. What are your July goals?
We’re right about the mid-point of the year. Do you have something fitness-related that you still want to accomplish in 2014?
For Readers’ Workouts, talk about your fitness activities on your blog (feel free to grab the logo) and link to your post below or join us in the comments! Be sure to visit the other participants to see how we all did.
I’ve moved up to two karate lessons a week, one for techniques and one for sparring, with last night as my first sparring lesson, followed by an hour of sparring class. I was called “sneaky” by an instructor, scored lots of points on him and only got kicked in the head once.
My current sparring goal is to do nothing without a purpose, and be ready to explain that purpose if challenged. It’s quite a bit harder to not only think about what you’re doing, but why, and how you respond to what your opponent just showed you. I feel like I’ve regressed to kindergarten sparring, but my instructor said I did well.
Sounds like you’re developing brain skills along with the physical ones.
Great you got your goal!
This week I’ll be running 40 minutes at last!! And as a prize for acomplishing my goal for running I’ll go shopping – I want new sport clothes!
Cool! Have fun with both the run and the shopping!
Thanks for asking this question. It’s the beginning of the month and the perfect time to start thinking about what I want to accomplish physically. I think I want to start walking a mile a day. This is a small goal but hopefully by making it a habit, I can soon lengthen my walks.
I was just put on bed rest. Bah humbug.
I’m going to get my free weights and at least do a little something while staying abed because I don’t really have a choice.
Doesn’t it feel great to set a goal and meet it? 365 days is impressive! I can’t wait to get walking again, even if it is steamy.
I was busy and didn’t get to post this week, but I’ll be back next week.
Congrats on meeting your June goal!!
