Changing Author of posts
So, for awhile now, I’ve had the byline of my blog posts read Joy Weese Moll / @joyweesemoll. I don’t know why. I read somewhere that was a good idea. But, now, with Google Authorship, I’m learning that my exact name as an author needs to be the same, everywhere I write — including my blog and my Google+ Profile.
So, I’m taking a slight detour from my previously mentioned Bloggiesta list and trying to figure out how to change the byline on all of my posts. I’m mostly posting this because I hope that it will help to have a post with the correct byline, because it’s not showing as an option where I need to make the change.
I love Bloggiesta. Because these are the moments when I hate my blog, my life, and the entire virtual world and if it weren’t for Bloggiesta, my sense of humor would disappear.
Edited to add: Did it. Changing the name under Users wasn’t enough. I had to change the Display Name in my Profile.
Bloggiesta kind of renews my energy in doing the mundane blog tasks.
Google Authorship is a headache to get going but once it is in place you don’t really mess with it anymore. I had to get everything to say Becca Lostinbooks as if that is my last name and that seems to be working out.
I don’t know anything about Google Authorship, I know I have different names on different sites.
Excellent post. I love Bloggiesta too for making me think about these things! I need to read up on Google Authorship and make everything uniform too. Thanks for the nudge.
