Saturday Snapshot — Street Photography
We took an all day photography workshop last week on Street Photography. Rather than the mean streets of a city, we shot the streets of a town, the one where my husband went to high school — Washington, Missouri along the Missouri River.
I get to send three of these in to the instructor for a critique, so be sure to let me know which you like the best.
The Saturday Snapshot crowd might also like a book I wrote about this week: Book Review: Plate to Pixel by Helene Dujardin. Check out today’s link list at West Metro Mommy Reads for more Saturday Snapshot posts.
Looks like a nice small town like Mayberry. Love the photos.
What great pics – this looks like a great place!
Your blog post makes me want to go take some pictures! Or a photograph course!
These are my favorites:
-the barber pole
-the old dutch sign
-the flowers in the hollow log
Wonder if there are any towns without an elm street or a main street?
My favorite is the flowers in the log because of the blurred out people in the background, but I really liked all of them. Anne@My Head is Full of Books
Nice Job Joy!
Nice photos…I love seeing old buildings and such.
THANKS.

What a great thing to do. I like all your photos, but do like the last three most.
I like them all, but my favorite is the last one.
They’re all good, but I like the top three best.
Brick gets me all the time! Always loved passing through Washington, but now realizing I/we probably never stopped there. Highway 47 or 19 goes through it?
Hwy 47 goes through Washington and 19 goes through Hermann. Hwy 100 goes through both of them along the Missouri River.
Looks like quintessential small town America … love the shot of the barber pole …
so very pretty! and obvious that you’ve got a bit of an artistic side! My favorites are the last 3 ~ I especially like how the windows turned into mirrors and the vibrant colors of the flowers ~ beautiful!

Great choice of visuals — the images are familiar even if we grew up in different communities. Pictures like this remind us of what we all have in common.
Oh, lots to capture in the smaller towns. I like the first and the third ones the best. And if you make me choose, it’s the third one with the barber pole.
THANK YOU so much, Joy, for stopping by my Saturday Snapshot and for the link to the site with that bumper sticker explained post.
That was great. Always nice to know there is a history behind a saying.
Have a great day!!
