Readers’ Workouts — August 27
Welcome to Readers’ Workouts, the weekly event where we share workout stories, goals, successes, and challenges.
I still have my streak going to exercise every day in August, but I’ll have to average an hour a day to meet my goal of 1500 minutes. It could happen.
Our walks are quite hot now — I work up a sweat just going out the front door!
How are you doing with exercise right now? Answer on your blog (feel free to grab the logo) and link to your post below or join us in the comments! Be sure to visit the other participants to see how we all did.
I keep hearing how warm it is in the midwest this week, which only means it’s coming this way! Stay cool
I announced a Sept challenge yesterday, hope you will join! Using Daily Mile let’s the participant log weekly or daily… what works for you.
Have a great week!
It was a rough week (I was ill) and I’m being very cautious this week, not wanting to push myself too hard only to relapse. Snowdoll and I do our morning walks just as the sun is coming up to avoid the heat. I still break out in a sweat but it isn’t quite as bad.
something like this is just the kick in the pants that I need! Is this a monthly event, ongoing?…
Readers’ Workouts is every week on Tuesday — we’d love to have you join us!
I’m doing ok. I’m going to start tracking my workouts in September, so I think that will help a lot!
Vicki, it definitely helps me to keep track of what I’ve done so that I can evaluate and change each week if needed. Especially when I was starting out, knowing where I could perhaps do a little more or when I’d overdone it and needed to scale back was invaluable.

It’s really hot here in Chicagoland as well, but I tell myself that if I’m sweating anyways I may as well go work out and make it worth my while
I am still fighting with myself over the required training for the duathlon I (stupidly) signed up for in October, but I’m doing them anyway, so I guess that counts for something. I’ve got to get back to doing something every day, though, because that was key to my earlier successes and I know it will be a cornerstone of maintenance, if I ever manage to get there.
