Readers’ Workouts — August 20
Welcome to Readers’ Workouts, the weekly event where we share workout stories, goals, successes, and challenges.
I got my exercise mojo back a few days ago and I’m on track for 1500 minutes in August. I have also exercised at least 30 minutes every day in August — I’m feeling very motivated to keep that streak going!
How are you doing with exercise right now? Answer on your blog (feel free to grab the logo) and link to your post below or join us in the comments! Be sure to visit the other participants to see how we all did.
Last week I managed to get three days of strength training in before I got bored. I picked up again yesterday and I am reminding myself that it’s okay if I drop the ball so long as I keep picking it up again. And I’m probably going to drop the ball again and again until it all becomes a habit. Once it’s a habit, I won’t have any problem, until life comes along and knocks me off my routine. Then I’ll just do what I did yesterday: start over all over again.
Excellent attitude! Persistence really seems to be the key. I have to remind myself of that.
Glad to hear you got your mojo back!
I think I’m going to set a miles goal for September and see how that works for me.
I’ve just signed up to do a duathlon in October (1 mile run, 12 mile bike ride, 3 mile run) so I’ve stepped up the intensity of my workouts even as I find myself not working out as many days per week. I signed up for a Pure Barre workout this morning and then chickened out when I saw the girls going in before me, but I have picked up a beginning level Pilates Reformer class every Sunday now, so that’s a start.
Great plans! Consistency works really well for me, but once in awhile I think it’s useful to have a reason to push the intensity for awhile instead. Keeps me from getting complacent.
