Readers’ Workouts — April 9
Welcome to Readers’ Workouts where readers prove we can move. Join us to share your exercise stories and find companions for the fitness journey.
This month, I’ve had 3 zero minute days and 3 ninety minute days. They cancel each other out and put me on track for my goal of 1400 minutes in April. That’s not really the kind of balance that I’m looking for, but at this point, I’m just glad that I don’t have to play catch up. I’ll try to put together some more consistent days of about 45 minutes a day, this week.

Still trying to decide what to do with my weekends to avoid losing moment and to add a fourth workout day to my week. I’m working around the fact that I’m inherently lazy with a deep aversion to exercise. So the idea of going for a nice long walk is indeed nice, but the execution of said walk is questionable when I could just curl up and read or watch a movie instead. I’m going to try out a yoga studio in my neighbourhood and see if it makes sense to add a yoga class every weekend to my schedule. This could also help with my balance, which is currently the thing I have the most trouble with in my dance class (oh do I fall over. So, so much).
So this week for me is dance on Monday and 60 minutes of gym on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Not ideal, but better than not exercising at all.
Momentum, even.
I didn’t have a high mileage week last week but time with my son out weighs any run.
Great job finding balance and a way to meet your personal goal. Did you see I signed up for a half marathon on a whim? In 27 days?! oh boy…
I’ve been so busy the last few weeks, going out of town etc, that I’m not getting the exercise I want to do each day. It seems it’s been one thing after another. The only consistency is walking.
