It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?
In case you missed it, I had a piece published on Huff/Post50 over the weekend! Check out A Librarian’s Tips for Healthy Holiday Parties. Please click, comment if you want, and share! And thanks to the many people who have already done that.
Read
I finished From Notting Hill with Love…Actually by Ali McNamara and really enjoyed it. It’s not a Christmas read, but with Love Actually making an appearance now and then, it really worked for me. We watched Love Actually on Friday, which was our anniversary. So, that all dovetailed very nicely.
After that, I wanted Christmas stories, so I read a collection of historical romance novellas, Mischief and Mistletoe. The headline authors are two of my favorites, Mary Jo Putney and Jo Beverley, so no surprise that my favorite story was Beverley’s with fun romantic escapades during a country house Christmas gathering.
Reading
I’m still reading and enjoying Culinary Intelligence by Peter Kaminsky. He’s giving this librarian some new tips and tricks for maintaining weight.
My fun read right now is The Search by Nora Roberts. I’ve had a long-time fantasy of working with a search and rescue dog. The dream was thwarted because I’m allergic to dogs. Reading about them doesn’t make me sneeze, though.
Will Read
What’s next? Who knows? I’ve got a day or two to figure it out.
What are you reading?

I liked the rescue dog aspect of The Search, hope you do as well. Have a great week.
It’s been a long time since I read a Nora Robert book. Enjoy your reading week! Thanks for visiting my blog.
I am addicted to Regency Christmas romances – I just picked one up tonight. It has a Mary Jo Putney story in it as well.
Love Actually is my very favorite movie of all time.
Happy Anniversary!
You made me laugh about the dogs and your allergies. I’m allergic to cats myself, but my son adores the neighbor’s cats and will sit inside and talk to them through the window.
Have a wonderful week!
Reading about them doesn’t make me sneeze, though.
LOL! The Search was a nice read. And I enjoyed the search and rescue detail.
I LOVE Love Actually. It’s such a feel-good movie with lots of great actors. I didn’t know there was a book about it.
Have a good week!
Congrats on your Huffpost piece! Nicely done!
I just finished Lyndsay Faye’s Gods of Gotham, a dense and murdery book set in New York city in the 1840s. Next I’m going to dive into Jess Walter’s Beautiful Ruins.
If I remember correctly, you’re a Jane Austen fan… May I recommend a short and sweet gentle parody of Austen type books? It is Very well done. I predict that You will be Quite Tickled by it! Keeping the Castle by Patrice Kindl
Also, I have a Nook e-version of it, so, if you have a Nook app, I’d be happy to ‘loan’ it to you… let me know!

That sounds like fun!
Since you’re in a Holiday mood, here’s another one to try:
Since you’re in a Holiday mood, here’s another one to try:
Just finished By Myself and Then Some by Lauren Bacall. Next up is The Great Cholesterol Myth by Doctors Bowden and Sinatra.
Both of those sound good — for completely different reasons!
Very cool article! Makes me wish I got invited to more holiday parties, though. My department at work does not “do” holiday parties.
Love, Actually is such a sweet movie. Great for an anniversary viewing
