Crystal Bridges, Visit 1
We visited the new art museum, Crystal Bridges, in Bentonville, Arkansas twice. The first trip, we focused on the grounds and didn’t see any of the collection! From this first visit, most of my photos are of the landscaping — ideas that we might use in our yard.
We liked this bridge — particularly the steel cable along the sides. We’re considering a deck railing made with steel cable and wood.
We thought this log had something to do with controlling water run off — then we saw a mountain biker ride across it. We still think it’s a cool idea for diverting water flow. We liked the carving on top.
We liked this roof garden with a pattern created by planting each type of plant into a separate large shape. This might be a good way to plant the large section at the bottom of the yard.
This is my post for Saturday Snapshot – November 3 hosted by Alyce of At Home with Books. I’ll have more Arkansas trip photos next week.
Have you been to Northwest Arkansas? Do you know about Crystal Bridges?
Arkansas is such a lovely state, especially at this time of the year. Glad you had a nice time.
Here’s my Saturday Snapshot. Hope you will stop by.
The only time we were in Arkansas was to ride the train out of Flippen. Lovely photos!
Don’t you just love discovering ideas! On a walk yesterday I found a branch that I want to hang in our porch, carried it a mile… just hoping I can use it. HA
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. We are staying close to home, the generator hum is a blessing but I can’t wait for this nightmare to be over. I miss the quiet.
Those are great pictures – I love the environment around it. So much beauty.

It looks like a wonderful place to walk. That rooftop garden is especially interesting.
I haven’t been to Arkansas, but the landscaping does look very nice.
I received a speeding ticket in Arkansas once…not my favorite state (even though I earned it). I would love to visit again (at the correct speed, of course) to see this wonderful museum
What a great way to find inspiration for your own projects.
These are lovely photos. Now I can add another location in my ‘Want to Visit’ list if DH and I ever get to motorhome across our country.
I have not been to Arkansas. I have visited Birmingham, AL,Tennessee, and Georgia several times.
Live roof is very popular as a sustainable green roof. The roof of the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco has a living roof planted with flowers and plants.
Very nice photos.
I like the way the roof garden fits right in with the landscaping. I’m starting to see a lot more of those in the Midwest now. There’s even a few in downtown Chicago.
