It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?
It’s been an Ireland fest on the blog since we got home.
Food: Eating in Ireland
Photos: Wordless Wednesday — Ireland Edition
Exercise: Readers’ Workouts June 19
And, of course, Books:
- Book Review: Ireland Awakening by Edward Rutherfurd
- Book Review: The Insurrection in Dublin by James Stephens
- Book Review: A Traveller’s History of Ireland
Read
I finished Jasmine Nights by Julia Gregson late last night. I enjoyed the World War II time period and exotic settings. I’ll write a longer review later in the week.
Reading
I’ve started reading Food Fight: The Citizen’s Guide to the Next Food and Farm Bill by Daniel Imhoff, which was timely since the Senate passed their version last week.
I seem to have added a new reading habit recently — an e-book on my phone. My current selection is No Longer a Gentleman by Mary Jo Putney. I read in very short bursts on my phone so it has to be an easy or short book to work well for me.
Will Read
Next up is Miracle at St. Anna by James McBride — and I need to read it fast because we’re discussing it at Book Club on Thursday night. This is another World War II novel so I’m looking forward to that.
I’m carrying on the World War II theme by rewatching Foyle’s War.
It’s Monday! What Are Your Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila of Book Journey. Be sure to check out her post today to see her selections and the list of links to all the other participating bloggers.
I hope your Book Club night is fun!
Wishing you a great reading week

Love the Ireland and Food theme! I don’t think I’ve read any books set in Ireland … yet.
I am looking forward to your review on Jasmine Nights. I hope you enjoy your reading this week!

Food Fight sounds very interesting. I am becoming more interested in the political and economic aspects of farming and food.
I love your WWII theme…I love books set during that time period.
Have a great week!

How fun Joy – you must have had quite the experience!
I need to see if my library has Food Fight. I currently have The American Way of Eating checked out. It’s due back this week so I really need to start reading it. I hope you enjoy the James McBride book. Happy reading!
Miracle at St. Anna looks really good! I hope you enjoy it
I have bookgroup on Thursday too, we are reading “The Kitchen House”
I haven’t started it, so wish me luck!
