R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril VI
R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril was one book blog challenge I was aware of a few years ago, but had no book blog to enable participation. So I’m very happy that the spooky season of my first year of book blogging has rolled around and now I get to play along. I’m signing up for Peril the First because I found four appropriate books lurking in my TBR stacks. And I chose the stone angel graphic because I got the Doctor Who reference.
Here are my books along with a suitably-themed bookmark.
The titles are:
- Black Magic Sanction by Kim Harrison
- Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning
- Masques by Patricia Briggs
- Waking the Witch by Kelley Armstrong
The bookmark, I’m sure, was picked up at a fall library conference and is well loved. The spooky bat says “Is Trademark Searching Driving You Batty? Contact your local patent and trademark depository library! (800)PTO-9199 www.uspto.gov” Librarians who bravely handle questions that begin with “There was this book and the cover was blue…” turn to the experts among us when it comes to patents and trademarks — they are that scary.
I recently read Masques and while not quite as good as her later stuff, it was still a good read.
How fun that you have a themed bookmark for RIP! I mentally roll my eyes when someone says “I don’t know the title, but, it had a blue cover …”.
I’m so glad you’re joining the RIP!
Also, I love your bookmark! I love that it’s about patents and trademarks! For some reason I associated that with copyright (which I used to deal with in another life) before I read on, but nonetheless I find your bookmark enormously cool. I had no idea you could use patents and trademarks to track down those tricky books whose covers are blue with white writing, and maybe a cat on it
Happy reading!
Great list of books for R.I.P. (mine will go up Wednesday). I am currently trying to get all of the Fever books on my shelf so that I can do a Fever readathon!
