cpd23 Thing 2: Investigate some other blogs
I explained cpd23 and my involvement with it in my post 23 Things for Professional Development, along with an invitation to join me — it’s not too late!
I’m having a good time visiting blogs by information professionals around the world for Thing 2: Investigate some other blogs. The most exotic blog I’ve commented on was in Italy: In the mood for library. So far, I’ve mostly been visiting posts that people link to in Twitter with the #cpd23 hashtag. This doesn’t seem quite fair to the participants who are saving themselves for “Thing 4: RSS feeds, Twitter, Pushnote” but it’s convenient to me. I’ve noticed when I’m participating in book blogger events that Twitter is also the centerpiece of my socializing. Periodically monitoring a hashtag is a great way for me to participate when I want to but also to turn it off when I need to do something else for awhile.
I have been feeling the same way about using Twitter to scope out cpd23 blogs. Skipping ahead feels a bit like cheating!

Thanks for your comment on my blog.
I don’t see using twitter at this point as cheating, not if you’re already using it. That’s like saying that people who already have a blog are cheating in the first week.
I haven’t event got round to following up many Twitter leads yet… But it’s as good a way as any to quickly choose a few more places to visit – there are so many participants now that you have to have one way or another to decide!
