Starting Line: 48 Hour Book Challenge
It begins. I will be reading through as many of the next 48 hours as I can manage.
My reading is to support the Joplin Schools Tornado Relief Fund (the address is on this page: Joplin Schools – Tornado Info). I will donate ten dollars per book I read AND ten cents per unique non-spam commenter who posts a comment on my blog during this 48 hour period. So, please, write a comment to this or another post this weekend before 1pm on Sunday (Central Daylight Time).
Plan A was to start with an audio book while taking a long walk to the park and back. But the forecast is for 96 degrees and we’re dealing with some financial things that require my being able to hear my phone when it rings. So, instead I’m going to read for awhile in Best Kept Secret by Amy Hatvany. I’m about halfway through and finding it more engaging than I expected.

Happy reading–I wish you good books!
Good luck, Joy! It’s good to start with a book that’s enjoyable. Mine is OK, sometimes boring, sometimes fun.
Good luck Joy! I hope you don’t have any disappointing ones to read.
It’s too hot here to read outside, too! That’s great that you’re donating to the Joplin relief fund. I’ll link to here to send commenters your way!
I hope you get lots more comments, and at least a little rest.
Good luck, Joy. I hope all your reads are good ones.
Good luck Joy. I’ll be your cheerleader. Happy Reading.
Great charity to donate to! Good luck with your reading goals. I’ll be cheering you on!
Joy, what a great project and a great cause! Care to put your goal list of books on the site so we know what your reading menu will be? Hope they are all page-turners and that your eyeballs have their workout clothes on for the 48-hour marathon! :o)
I love your donation idea! All the best with the reading and the challenge, I hope that it goes well.
