It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

I gave up on Stay A Little Longer by Dorothy Garlock. I don’t usually give up on novels, especially by authors I like. The main premise, which isn’t fully revealed until the middle of the book, wasn’t convincing to me. I have too many books on my To Be Read stack right now to continue a book that wasn’t working for me.
Panini Express by Daniel Leader and Lauren Chattman proved to be an excellent accompaniment to our new contact grill press: Book Review: Panini Express.
I still haven’t put up my review of The Weird Sisters by Eleanor Brown — and the library wanted their copy back so it’s no longer in my physical possession, but I’ll try to get something up tomorrow.
My current reading still includes Zingerman’s Guide to Good Eating. As I wrote on my Weekend Cooking post, it’s a book that invites savoring, so I’ll take a bit longer with it. Last night, I started reading Sizzle by Julie Garwood. The villain is fun (and I don’t usually say that) — a bumbling hit man who hasn’t actually performed a hit, though his boss believes he’s been successful.
I suspect my reading will be slowed by listening to special coverage on NPR so I don’t know if I will be starting new books this week. Looking at my huge stacks of library books alongside the haul from the Greater St. Louis Book Fair and I am feeling very behind right now. I will need to perform a selection process to diminish these stacks today.
