It’s Monday! What Are Your Reading?
Okay, enough with blogging about blogging, it’s time to get back to blogging about books!
It’s Monday! What Are Your Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila of Book Journey. Be sure to check out her post today to see her selections — a lot of other-worldly things happening there — and the list of links to all the other participating bloggers. This is a great way to find books to read!
I finished The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson, just hours before I lent it to a fellow book club member. I’ll write my thoughts about it on Friday, after our book club meets on Thursday night. I’m looking forward to our discussion.
Love in the Time of Cholesterol by Cecily Ross. I am reading this as one of my selections for an early start to February, American Heart Month.
Bonds of Justice by Nalini Singh. When I recorded Book #9 of the Psy-Changelings series in Goodreads, I realized that I hadn’t read Book #8. Good thing that these read well as individual titles! This one has a hero and heroine who are both damaged, but strong from dealing with their hard upbringings. At the moment, it looks like the heroine is going to die no matter what they do, so mostly they are doing their jobs. I can’t wait to see how they get out of this mess!
Next up, Between Barack and a Hard Place by Tim Wise for another book group and, probably, another heart-healthy cookbook.
I like the variety that you read. And, just how many book clubs are you in? That is lots of reading. I like the Psy-Changeling series. They are always good escape reads. My Monday Report is here. Happy reading!
I don’t usually read cookbooks or food-related books, but Love in the Time of Cholesterol has such a great title, I might have to give it a look. Hope you enjoy all your reading this week!
Kathy: Just one book club, but a local church is sponsoring a few sessions around the Tim Wise book — I’m going mostly to market my regular book club to anyone who attends.
Joy: Love in the Time of Cholesterol is really proving to be a good memoir about struggle and recovery, more than a food book. You might like it!
Oh! I just started the Psy-Changling series by Nalini Singh – I’m really liking it. I love finding the beginning of book series that have *so many* books already published – I’m set for reading for a while. If you like Nalini – you might want to try my new favorite genre – steampunk romance, as written by Meljean Brooks. The Iron Duke is the first of her new series (the Iron Seas) and is excellent!!
Robin: The Iron Duke is on my TBR, but I just moved it higher!
I liked Leviathan and Behemoth by Scott Westerfeld, too. As a bonus, Behemoth has a very cool library scene. YA, so just a tad of romance, but a very intriguing world.
I loved the title of Love in the Time of Cholesterol!
Love in the Time of Cholesterol sounds interesting! Have a great week
