It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?
My first ever book meme! I’ve been reading the “It’s Monday!” posts, hosted by Sheila at Book Journey, for months now and I’m so happy to be able to post one of my own.
The 3-Day Solution Plan: Jump-start Lasting Weight Loss by Turning Off the Drive to Overeat by Laurel Mellin. I’ve lost over 60 pounds in the last 16 months using Cognitive Behavioral Techniques advocated by David Kessler in The End of Overeating and specified in the books by Judith Beck (The Beck Diet Solution and The Complete Beck Diet for Life). CBT works and I highly recommend it to the many people who put “lose weight” at the top of their New Year’s Resolution list. However, I have always felt like I was missing something on the emotional side of things and it looks to me like this book is going to give that absent piece to me. There are other books about emotions and weight loss, but this is the first one that I found really accessible for someone who is not all that closely in touch with emotions.
Play of Passion by Nalini Singh. This is book number 9 of the Psy-Changeling series set in a world that I just love where the Psy are powerful and deliberately devoid of emotion, the changelings are human-animal shifters, and the humans occasionally get a bit of a role to play. This book features two wolf changelings. The heroine is a very strong female who is not, at first, sure that the hero is strong enough for her. He, of course, is confident that he is plenty strong but knows she’s going to take some convincing. I’m enjoying the development of their relationship.
Head First WordPress by Jeff Siarto. I’m reading this for obvious reasons given that this is my second post on my new WordPress blog!

Congratulations on your new blog and on your first What are you reading Monday post! Welcome to the book blog world – it’s lots of fun!
Boy, I could really use a book about blogging, but I don’t use WordPress – I’m on Blogger. I started years ago, but still don’t know that much about the technical side of it! I’m still relying on basic templates for my blogs.
Looking forward to hearing about your books!
Sue
