Year-End Exercise #ReadersWorkouts

Welcome to Readers’ Workouts, the weekly event where book lovers share workout stories, goals, successes, and challenges.
I’ve got a year-end sickness going on. I’m hoping it’s just congestion and will disappear quickly so that I can end my year this week with a long walk and some stretching.
Did you have 2014 goals for exercise? How did they go? I didn’t, but I think my workouts could use the boost in 2015, so I’ll think about how I want to structure a goal for the year.
While thinking about the new year, consider if these two reading challenges will help.
New Year’s Resolution Reading Challenge — a short-term challenge to start the year off right with books to support our New Year’s resolutions.
Healthy Lifestyle Books Reading Challenge 2015 — a year-long reading challenge to read books that support our healthy lifestyles.

One of my 2014 goals was to get my 2nd degree brown belt in karate, managed that in July, a 2015 goal is to get 1st degree brown, then start on work for 1st degree black. Had a replacement instructor last night, who said they don’t test people for 1st brown who aren’t ready to be black belts. For the kid who was always picked last at sports, that feels like a good place to be in.
The morning yoga practice is one I definitely want to keep, it replaces my “goof off on the internet” time in the mornings and it’s probably better for me anyway!
Sounds like you’re doing great!
I think I need to spend less time goofing off on the internet, too.
Hope you feel better soon. My year is not ending to well on the fitness front, but the new year starts Thursday.
The last 3 weeks have been awful for us too! That flu/congestion stuff is terrible! Now other things are going on and I’m drained. We aren’t sleeping or eating right. Looking forward to 2015 and getting back to normal!
Hope you feel better and you are able to go for that long walk today, Joy.
This time I’m also writing a post for Readers’ workouts, because I finished my year running, which was kind of my goal
Take care and have a wonderful New Year!
I have been off the internet for almost two months but hope to get back now that the holiday’s are past.
My only goal for 2014 was to complete the NYC marathon, well… I also log 100 miles a month.
Hope you had a lovely Holiday season (Thanksgiving to New Years).
I find the gym scene uninspiring and these days adults and children don’t get enough time outside. I am car-free, so I get most of my exercise by walking and biking for my commuting. I also take frequent computer breaks to do planks, squats, pushups, jumping jacks and plyometrics.
