Go-Go, Reviews, & Comments #SundaySalon
The scene: // Warm and sunny. We’ve had a remarkably mild summer in St. Louis so no one, for a change, is complaining about the weather.
Listening to: // “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” — I added it to my Good Morning playlist on Spotify a few weeks ago when someone mentioned it on Facebook. I remember when that song played on the radio!
Reading: // Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman.
Blogging about: // Books! Last week’s Review-a-Thon burst all over my blog this week with four book reviews and one fun excerpt:
- The Diet Fix by Yoni Freedhoff
- The Illustrated Longitude by Dava Sobel
- Shield of Winter by Nalini Singh
- Some of My Best Friends are Black by Tanner Colby
- Benjamin Franklin in Paris (from Walter Isaacson’s biography)

I love the idea of a comment-a-thon. I need to do something similar. Have a good week, Joy!
I should be writing my Sunday Salon and an email to family and friends I left in Chattanooga when I moved here, but instead I’m going with my friend Donna (who was my roommate in Chattanooga) to eat at Guido’s Pizzeria and Tapas about 4:30 or 5:00. Want to meet us there? I think you have my phone number. Donna is the friend who used to work at the St. Louis County Library.
I love the variety in reads
Makes life more interesting, right? I’m cooking this Sunday. It’s been a while since I cooked anything–just wasn’t happening with a sick herd–but today got back in the kitchen and it felt SO good. Made chili, corn bread and chocolate cream pie. Yummy and a nice bit of relaxing
