Readers’ Workouts — December 31
Happy New Year! Welcome to Readers’ Workouts, the weekly event where book lovers share workout stories, goals, successes, and challenges.
If I exercise 40 minutes today, I’ll meet my goal of 1400 minutes this month and continue my streak of daily exercise that’s been going since July (something that still amazes me — and keeps me motivated).
Are you making any fitness goals for 2014 or setting any healthy New Year’s resolutions? Since I’ve made my daily exercise streak go this long, I’d really like to see it go for a whole year.
Talk about your 2014 fitness dreams on your blog (feel free to grab the logo) and link to your post below or join us in the comments! Be sure to visit the other participants to see how we all did.
I’ve been writing a series of posts about books to support various New Year’s Resolutions — one was Be More Fit. I’d love more suggestions. If you’re reading books about health and fitness for the new year (or for other goals, projects, and resolutions), join us at The New Year’s Resolution Reading Challenge!
I am definitely working on fitness again after a hiatus due to a severe case of plantar fasciitis and TMD. Started back to yoga this week and am working back into running. Hope 2014 will be a better fitness year for me.
Glad you’re feeling better, Betti! Happy New Year!
I have one day to go but am happy to say I’m run 100+ miles every month this year (whoop). October and November to tough, with the family crisis but I sneaked in 101 and 103.
I mentioned getting the fitbit, wow do I walk alot! I can walk a mile, in my home, before 9am (running up and down the stairs, laundry, coffee, dogs etc..). I’m loving this gadget.
Happy New Years!
Happy New Year! I’ve had a somewhat dismal exercise year due to a detour for major surgery in June. I have much work to do this year and I plan to get started immediately. I saw a post you wrote a few months back that detailed your road to fitness – it listed all the books on diet and exercise that you used to help you keep on track. My first goal is to find that post of yours and use it as my MOTIVATION ! If you recall it, can you point me in the right direction? Thank you!
I’ve written several like that, but I’m guessing this one (since you commented on it): http://www.joyweesemoll.com/2013/09/22/reinvention-a-generation-fabulous-bloghop/
Happy New Year to you, too. I’m glad you’re feeling better after your surgery and ready to move in 2014.
I started to write a comment but it became so long I turned it into a blog post:

As for books on fitness, I have some recommendations of yoga resources in my blog–mostly DVDS but some books too. Although yoga is my fundamental form of exercise, I won’t be doing much yoga in the next few weeks because I’m shifting my focus to qigong. It should be interesting.
Went to karate group class and sparring last night, also my first lesson with the temporary instructor while mine is off recovering from shoulder surgery. It’s going to be an interesting month with him. I’m hopefully coming up on another belt test soon, so a lot of review work on my own at home (techniques one day, kata the next).
You always do an awesome job Joy!! Kudos to you!
Thanks for the link up…Happy New Year! I have been so overwhelmed lately that I haven’t even spent the time to make my Resolutions. The number one running goal is to be injury free in 2014, so everything I do has to come back to that!
