It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?
Read
I posted my review of a writing book that I find useful both for character development and plotting: Book Review: 45 Master Characters by Victoria Lynn Schmidt.
Last week, I read Shades of Earth by Beth Revis in just two days. I hardly ever read books that fast. It’s book 3 in the Across the Universe series that I talked about in last week’s post (It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?) — I loved the first one but had some trouble with the second one, which often happens for me in the middle book of a trilogy. Now that I’ve read the third book, though, I can definitely say this is a great series for YA fantasy / sci-fi lovers.
Reading
I’m still reading Cooked by Michael Pollan. I hoped to have it finished by Saturday so I can post a review for Weekend Cooking.
For fun, I’m reading Calculated in Death by J.D. Robb.
Will Read
Next up, I want to start reading for the Back to School Readng Challenge. I wrote about the eight books I intend to read for that in my sign up post: Back to School Reading Challenge — my Sign Up Post. I’m looking forward to our Twitter chat on Wednesday night (Back to School Reading Challenge — the Chats) and to finalizing our Read Along Book (Choose our Back to School Read-Along Book — there’s still time to vote!).
It’s Monday! What Are Your Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila of Book Journey. Be sure to check out her post today to see her selections and the list of links to all the other participating bloggers.
I have Cooked in the wings but I am reading the new Carl Hiaasen, Bad Monkey, light, funny summer reading!
Cooked has gotten buried in my TBR pile. I pre-ordered and just knew I’d be reading it the second it arrived, but somehow here it is, weeks (months??) later! I’ll look forward to reading your review.
You have intrigued me with Revis’ series. I will have to check it out at the library. Have a great week.
Love the cover of SHADES OF EARTH.
ENJOY your week.

I bet my grandson would love the Revis series! As for Cooked, curiosity got the best of me. I looked up his other books and now want to read them all!! Hopefully I can find them through the library!
