Saturday Snapshot — More Ireland Photos
These photos are from one of our busiest touring days in Ireland. Before lunch, we saw Knappoque Castle and its walled Victorian garden, the Cliffs of Moher, and the Burren. We ate lunch in a tea room in the small village of Ballyvaughan on Galway Bay. After lunch, we visited Poulnabrone Dolmen, a prehistoric tomb on the Burren. That night, we went to a medieval banquet at Bunratty Castle (I wrote about that night as part of this Weekend Cooking post: Eating in Ireland).
There are many more photos of these locations, especially the beautifully dramatic Burren, on Flickr: Joy’s Photostream.

Nice. I always wanted to visit a castle. I had a friend who lived in one in England for a few years. She said it was very drafty in winter. Guess that’s why they had all those tapestries on the walls.
Beautiful pictures! I am quite jealous, visiting Scotland is on my bucket list
I have to say, I love your picture of the gate, how the flower is peeking over the top. Looks like a wonderful time
Book Savvy Babe
uhh, ya, that was supposed to be Ireland not Scotland… sorry, brain failure…
What beautiful pictures. My grandparents used to live in the hills, near Buncrana, in Co Donegal, about as far north as you get (we used to picnic at Malin Head), but I’ve never been anywhere else in Ireland. My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/qCafm
Wonderful scenery!!!
These shots are breathtaking. Would love to visit the area.
Oh, what a beautiful seascape in that last shot of the cliff of Bunratty! How I wish I could have a good long ‘walk-about’ in Ireland!
Amazing pictures! I would love to go to Ireland someday.
Aye, I can almost hear the brogue as I look at these photos. My bedroom walls are covered with photos from Ireland, when my eldest son lived there for a few months. I love your shots!
Here’s MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST
Wow! The photos you took seaside are just fabulous!
That looks like so much fun! I’d love to visit old and ancient places like those.
Gorgeous pictures–especially of the cliffs and the ocean! I’d love to go to Ireland and England one of these days. I’m saving up for a trip!
Here’s my Snapshot.
Great photos. Ireland is high up on my places-I-must-go-to list.
I love walled gardens…so enticing. That one flower hanging over the gate is just perfect.
What a wonderful trip, a little rushed perhaps, but wonderful nonetheless. Happy SS.
Awesome photos! I wanna be there!!
Here is my Saturday Snapshot post!
Great pictures! Love the garden gate – I think it’s the little details of a place that really stay with you.
